Space Industry Skillnet is a business network for companies of all sizes in the dynamic Irish space sector. The network’s mission is to support businesses involved in the development and delivery of technology and services to the European Space Agency (ESA) and the global space market. The network provides state of the art upskilling for employees at all levels.
Collaborating with industry, the network designs, develops and delivers responsive and flexible, subsidised training courses to address the ongoing needs of businesses. Space Skillnet is promoted by G & L Technology Limited. Membership of the network is open to private businesses in the space sector.

Our business has utilised the services of Space Industry Skillnet (SIS) over the last number of years. SIS have assisted us with courses, seminars and networking events in Ireland and abroad. Attending the QA for Space Projects courses, ESA approved training courses and most recently the Irish Space Industry Conference has helped us position ourselves as a successful company in a challenging growth market. Membership has enabled us to access relevant, quality and flexible training at a reduced cost. We are already seeing great improvements and networking has helped us win more business.

Our business manufactures medical device instruments for the health services and clinical trials. We engaged with the Space Industry Skillnet to assist us in bringing the necessary skills into the company, specifically relating to IPC standards. Raising the skill levels of staff to win new business with Space Industry Skillnet
Realtime Technologies faced the challenge of upskilling their workforce to remain competitive in the global space industry. With support from Space Industry Skillnet, they accessed sector-specific training that strengthened their capabilities in delivering advanced space technologies. This upskilling positioned them to win new contracts, including a €3.4 million deal in 2019—the largest ever awarded to an Irish company for a European Space Agency science mission. Space Industry Skillnet continues to help Irish companies explore commercial opportunities in the space sector by equipping them with the necessary skills.
