Reducing the skills gap in precision injection moulding with First Polymer Skillnet

Trend Technologies Ireland is a leading sub-contract manufacturer of precision injection moulded components and assemblies. Since 1999 the business has collaborated with First Polymer Skillnet to keep pace with best-practice industry processes and upskill their workforce.

First Polymer Skillnet sustains and enhances the existing skills of the Irish polymer sector. The Skillnet Business Network offers on-site, customised training and has developed over 20 accredited programmes. They are the only provider of these niche, sector-specific programmes in Ireland.

First Polymer Skillnet provided Trend Technologies with a range of flexible, accredited training programmes, including a Level 7 Bachelor of Engineering in Polymer Processing. This allowed employees to continue working full-time while obtaining a third-level qualification. Trend Technologies developed the programmes with the Skillnet Business Network to ensure they met their business needs. By training people for the future, First Polymer Skillnet supports the advancement of the Irish polymer sector.
