Skillnet Ireland is proud to be a core partner in REBOOT SKILLS.

Launched in January 2023, REBOOT SKILLS  is a €3.8m EU-funded project under the Digital Europe Programme, designed to provide current and aspiring manufacturing employees with advanced digital upskilling opportunities in areas such as Cybersecurity, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Industrial Internet of Things (IoT).

The REBOOT SKILLS consortium brings together 8 partners from five EU countries, including universities, research institutes, and professional organisations. Together, they are developing a tailored upskilling model delivered through short, advanced digital skills courses, designed to empower workers and help drive innovation and growth in the European manufacturing sector.

Rebooting the Manufacturing Industry through Digital Skills Development 

Emerging technologies are reshaping the skills employees need and increasing reliance on technology across industries. Growing global competition have highlighted Europe’s shortage of digital experts, creating a significant gap between industry needs and available skills in advanced technologies. 

REBOOT SKILLS addresses this gap by providing SMEs, their managers, and employees with accessible, high-quality digital training across multiple sites. The programme promotes collaboration, sustainability, and gender inclusivity, offering over 30 short courses and training more than 1,400 workers across five European countries in AI, IoT, Robotics, and Cybersecurity.

Our Contribution 

Skillnet Ireland works closely with industry partners to shape the REBOOT SKILLS training model, ensuring it meets the digitalisation needs of manufacturing SMEs. We support skills needs analysis and curriculum development, promote employer engagement, and help expand access to advanced digital training, with a strong focus on enabling Irish SMEs to adopt and implement new digital technologies effectively.
