“In light of the severity of the impact of COVID-19 on our sector, Leading Healthcare Providers Skillnet’s support for our members is greatly appreciated. The courses are delivered to a very high standard and our members know the content will be relevant to their day-to-day roles.”

Leading Healthcare Providers Skillnet is delivering three fully-subsidised and sector-specific online programmes to further develop the capacity of healthcare providers to undertake reviews, manage risks, cope effectively with potential outbreaks, and ensure the development of updated and robust policies and procedures.
1. COVID-19 Learning from Experience – Planning the Future: Where COVID-19 outbreaks have occurred, the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) has requested residential care settings to undertake an internal review that will include the identification, recording, investigation and learning from the outbreak in order to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the residents in any future outbreaks. The purpose of this programme is to provide practical tools and techniques to implement the internal review process and develop a framework for the ongoing safety of residents.
2. Resilient Minds At Work: In the past few months, due to the outbreak of the coronvairus pandemic in Ireland, the demands on the healthcare sector have never been greater. This increased pressure can lead to a higher frequency of stress, anxiety and a sense of burn-out. One way to address these emotional and psychological challenges is through resilience training. By developing your resilience, you gain an awareness of useful practical and psychological coping mechanisms, which in turn will lead to a happier, healthier life.
3. Crisis and Change Management: This practical, skills-acquisition programme aims to provide learners with the skills and tools for crisis management. By exploring approaches to tasks such as decision-making, motivating staff, and conflict resolution, participants can identify their own needs and learn how to meet them while contributing to the wellbeing and efficiency of their staff.
