Professionals from the legal and financial services sectors will benefit from a new Masters programme developed by the Law Society Finuas Skillnet to further enhance the base of sector-specific legal expertise in Ireland. The Masters in International Financial Services Law, developed by Law Society Finuas Skillnet member companies in partnership with the UCD Sutherland School of Law, was launched in January 2018 and the first intake of students has already commenced their studies.
The programme is highly practical and provides participants with an opportunity to learn from and engage with a panel of expert speakers with extensive experience of the international financial services sector. The Masters is supported by a virtual learning environment and academic support tutors.
The Masters builds upon a post-graduate diploma that the network developed in 2010. This advanced degree will develop the capacity of legal and other professional services firms to support future growth within Ireland’s IFS sector. In recent years there has been consistently strong demand, within the legal and IFS sector, for a more advanced qualification to gain a deeper knowledge and competency of key issues including: regulatory governance; online regulation; EU competition law; corporate governance, international tax law and data protection.
Dr John Ahern who undertook the post-graduate diploma in International Financial Services Law said “I was attracted to this course because I was already working in international financial services and felt that it would enhance my grasp of this incredible technical and nuanced area, and that it would help progress my career. The expert speakers and innovative delivery methods were fantastic and I found the course to be really targeted. The course was invaluable in enhancing my knowledge of international financial services law.”
NEW enrollments to the next LLM in International Financial Services Law will open again in the coming months for commencement in Autumn 2018. For further information, please email email@example.com.
