County Tipperary Skillnet recently celebrated its 10th year of operation. The Network was established in 2008 to support Irish enterprise through the provision of innovative, quality training with the support of Skillnet Ireland. County Tipperary Skillnet training programmes are organised in collaboration with enterprise ensuring that the Network responds to changing market needs in a timely and innovative way. The Network collaborates with its promoting body County Tipperary Chamber to deliver topical and relevant events annually for businesses in the region.
The vision for the future
County Tipperary Skillnet Network Manager Karen Walters vision for the future is “to be the first port of call for any training or development requirements in the region, reaching companies throughout the entire County with the continued support of Skillnet Ireland”.
As a multi-sectoral regional network County Tipperary Skillnet has provided relevant training and enabled workforce development in the region for the past 10 years in a variety of areas including IT Skills, Healthcare, Time Management, Leadership Skills, Wellbeing, Digital Marketing and Communications. During this time more than 5,000 employees have been trained from 15,000 plus companies.
Supporting business in the region
Laura Jones, Sales & Marketing Manager Clonmel Park Hotel, who participated in the Digital Marketing Programme with County Tipperary Skillnet felt “the delivery of the course was great, it’s very hard to sit back into a classroom style environment when you’ve been out of it so long in the working world. The way the day was broken down led to the best learning experience we could possibly ask for. We really enjoyed it”.
